Healthsense Appoints Charles Fazio, M.D., to Chief Medical Officer

Fazio, M.D., M.S., to the newly created position of Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Fazio is responsible for representing the company’s clinical capabilities, evaluating and translating clinical trends in the healthcare landscape and ensuring the efficacy of Healthsense products in the advancement of technology-enabled care.

Prior to joining Healthsense, Dr. Fazio consulted with a variety of employers, provider organizations, accountable care organizations and health plans regarding workplace health and care delivery and funding. Most recently, Dr. Fazio served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medica Health Plans. Past positions also include Medical Director at the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement, Medical Director of the Central Minnesota Group Health Plan and emergency physician with St. Cloud Hospital and St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where he was also a quality improvement consultant.

Certified by the American Board of Medical Management, Dr. Fazio served on the Minnesota State Task Force on Health Care Reform and co-chaired the Minnesota State Work Group on Provider Peer Group Measurement. He is board-eligible in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Fazio holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine, followed by an internship with the Central Texas Medical Foundation. He earned a Master of Science in Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin.
