TAMPA, Fla. – July 17, 2013 – HealthPlan Services (HPS), the nation’s leading technology, sales, retention and administrative services provider for the insurance and managed care markets, announced today that its Go-To-Exchange™ platform successfully completed point-to-point testing with State-Based Marketplaces in California, Colorado and Maryland. HPS is also in the process of testing its transaction capabilities with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace.

A precursor to user tests with real data, point-to-point tests demonstrate that the Go-To-Exchange platform’s technical connections and file formats are compatible with state and federal insurance Marketplaces. To date, Go-To-Exchange has successfully tested enrollment transactions with Covered California, Colorado and Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.

With enrollment transaction testing complete, testing now begins on enrollment changes, payment files and monthly reconciliation capabilities.

“Successfully demonstrating the technical capabilities of Go-To-Exchange is a significant milestone in our exchange readiness strategy,” said HPS President and CEO Jeff Bak. “It validates our focus on delivering proven yet flexible processes and solutions that overcome the challenges of participating in multiple Marketplaces and advances our leadership position in the industry.”

Go-To-Exchange provides organizations with the tools they need to meet the technical and administrative demands of multiple Marketplaces. These include:

  • ExchangeLinkSM, which facilitates the technical connections necessary to link carriers to Marketplaces
  • SalesLinkSM, which supports customer acquisition through precision marketing, enrollment, underwriting, welcome kit issuance and commissions
  • ServiceLinkSM, which provides in-force administration, member billing, tax credit/subsidy collection, premium reconciliation and customer service
  • LoyaltyLinkSM, which delivers improved retention through advanced analytics, market analysis, cross-selling and renewal plan option during open enrollment.

“The reality is that time is running out for carriers that want to be in Marketplaces when enrollment opens,” said Bak. “Go-To-Exchange provides a turnkey and tested solution that streamlines product configuration, rates and operational processes to keep carriers off the Marketplace sidelines.”
