DENVER, CO (May 7, 2014) — Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that it has partnered with Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: STRM) to distribute its Health Language® LEAP I-10 claims analytics and mapping solution to mitigate the risks associated with the ICD-10 transition.

“Proactive planning, coordination and financial risk analysis will be critical to successful ICD-10 transitions and will have a direct and significant impact on provider revenues,” said Robert E. Watson, President and CEO, Streamline Health. “Combining our powerful clinical documentation improvement (CDI) projects, enterprise content management and computer-assisted coding solutions with the advanced claims analytics and mapping capabilities of Health Language will increase coding accuracy, reduce risks and enhance operational efficiency for accelerated payments and improved outcomes.”

Streamline Health is a leading provider of transformational data-driven solutions to help healthcare providers reduce exposure to risk, enhance clinical, financial, and operational performance and improve patient care.

Streamline Health clients will use the Health Language solution to analyze potential DRG shifts caused by the ICD-10 transition and use that information to prioritize coder/physician training and drive CDI projects. The solution will enable Streamline Health clients to build ICD-9-to-ICD-10 translation maps in order to remediate electronic medical record (EMR) documentation templates. Finally, clients will use the solution’s ability to generate test data to ensure their efforts are meeting their objectives.

“From payment errors and denial rates to clinical decision support, ICD-10 has considerable implications across the healthcare enterprise, affecting nearly every aspect of clinical and financial operations,” said Brian McDonald, Vice President, Health Language, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “This partnership will enable Streamline Health clients to understand and mitigate those risks.”
