Doctors Administrative Solutions President and CEO David Schlaifer Named a Finalist for TBTF Outstanding Leadership Award
TAMPA, Fla. – (Oct. 14, 2011) – David Schlaifer, president and CEO of Doctors Administrative Solutions (DAS), has been named a finalist for the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF).
The award, one of TBTF’s annual Industry Awards, recognizes a demonstrated leader who has made a significant and positive impact on Tampa Bay’s technology community. Winners will be announced Nov. 4, 2011 at the 8th Annual Industry Achievement Awards Gala.
Under Schlaifer’s leadership, DAS (www.Dr-Solutions.com) has enjoyed rapid growth despite difficult economic times. The firm, which helps physicians leverage IT advancements to run more profitable and effective practices, is on pace to realize a third straight year of revenue increases exceeding 200%. Within the past six months, it expanded its client base to nearly 200 physicians and 1,000 users treating more than a half million patients, and tripled its employee count. In addition to emerging as one of the top three electronic health record (EHR) providers in its market, DAS also boasts the largest EHR implementation staff dedicated solely to West Central Florida.
The business successes achieved by DAS under Schlaifer’s guidance have not gone unnoticed. Schlaifer also leverages his business acumen and unique gift for bringing people together to transform the region’s healthcare system with a goal of improving the quality of and access to care. He led a coalition of political, healthcare and business leaders to win a multi-million dollar EHR software grant for the Tampa Bay region, is the founder of the Tampa Bay Health e-Connection and was an early member of the Tampa Bay Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) steering committee.
