Procedure Documentation and Coding Solution takes top Category Honors for Fifth Consecutive Year

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that ProVation MD software, from its ProVation Medical brand of products, has been designated Number One in the Clinical Procedure Documentation category of the 2009 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services report. KLAS, an independent healthcare IT vendor research firm, recognizes healthcare vendors for their leadership in working with customers to ensure satisfaction. ProVation Medical was named Number One in this category in the 2005 - 2008 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards reports as well.

The KLAS Category Leader ranking measures performance based on customer surveys and in-depth interviews and gauges insight into specific strengths, weaknesses and future expectations for companies and their products. This annual recognition assists medical facilities in providing an unbiased and accurate vehicle for measuring performance in the healthcare industry, allowing for further understanding of how well suppliers and products perform.

"Achieving this prestigious designation for the fifth time is testament to the dedication ProVation Medical’s 30+ clinicians and coders have to providing our clients with industry-leading best documentation and coding solutions,” said Arvind Subramanian, President & CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions division. “It also demonstrates the positive impact our rigorous development process and 24-hour, world-class customer service have on ensuring that our clients are able to achieve the highest possible return on their investment into our products.”

ProVation® MD software for procedure documentation and coding compliance replaces dictation/transcription and streamlines the coding and billing process. Driven by deep medical content, ProVation MD allows clinicians to quickly and completely document medical procedures and apply the appropriate CPT and ICD codes, as well as CCI edits. ProVation is currently used by thousands of clinicians at close to 700 hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, in specialties including Cardiology, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Pulmonology and Urology.

“By streamlining and automating the documentation and coding process, ProVation software eliminates transcription costs and recovers previously lost revenues. This frees up valuable resources which healthcare institutions can refocus on their real mission, that of providing patients with the high quality, safe care,” said Subramanian.
