TAMPA, Fla. – The annual Metropolitan Ministries food drive is underway at HealthPlan Services (HPS), the nation’s leading technology and administrative services provider for the insurance and managed care markets.
Metropolitan Ministries touches the lives of more than 10,000 men, women, and children by providing food, a safe place to live and hope for a new future. HPS has been holding the food drive to benefit the charitable organization for more than a decade as a way for the company and its employees to give back to the community.
“Giving should be something we practice year round,” said Jeff Bak, President & CEO, HealthPlan Services. “But it is especially important now, as so many people are facing a holiday season clouded by financial hardship. Being able to help those in need is truly a gift in itself, which is why HPS is once again making a human connection through the Metropolitan Ministries food drive.”
HealthPlan Services is seeking three types of donations:
• Boxes of Hope, which provide a complete holiday meal for a family of four
• Bags of Joy, which include two age-appropriate toys and a stocking stuffer
• Individual monetary donations
Last year, HealthPlan Services donated 107 Boxes of Hope. This year, the goal is 125 Boxes, the first of which will be picked up the morning of Nov. 18. The food drive runs through December 24th.
